Samsung reportedly working towards 11K Screen with 3D!
Recent report shows that Samsung is working in a bid to create ultra-high definition screens. The new Project; EnDK focuses on making an 11K display with 13 un-named companies and a total of $26.5 Million dollars of the governments funds.
Samsung hopes to have the prototype display by the 2018 Olympics. It is said they are also shooting for 2,250 Pixels Per Square Inch (ppi) which will have to shade less than 11,520 x 6480 Pixels.
Modern 1080P screens are 2 Megapixels (MP), 2K are 8 Megapixels, as this one will be 74 Megapixels.
Samsung wants this display to render images so vivid it would sport an optical illusion that the consumer is viewing a 3D screen on a smartphone.
Wow, I wonder where the fire is, for Samsung to want to jump to this type of display right away! I also wonder if the new Touchwiz system (or whatever they use by then) will have options to turn the resolution down, and up, and I also wonder what type of Hz this display will have.
Guess we will have to wait, and find out!
