LG G5 AND FRIENDS, AKA Modules! The First Actual Modular Phone?

LG G5 AND FRIENDS, AKA Modules! The First Actual Modular Phone?

The LG G5

This... This is the LG G5, and it has modules, Extra battery, Camera, and more.
Basically the LG G5 is the first look at a modular phone, but nothing we expected as of before. Honestly it looks like a nice Nexus 6P or Nexus 5P but with LG Accessories, and skinned software. This leaves room for way better camera modules from your favorite brands like Nikon, Canon, and Sony. Allthough a Sony camera is nothing new to Android devices, they have carried just about the best camera thus far. This leaves tons of more room for custom roms, and software, but will need to include all of the drivers, framework or flashables for the extras.

My Thoughts

The only thing I worry about now, is does this leave room for LG to release the device with parts that are subpar, just to get the consumer to spend more money on the modules? I've seen somewhere the modules will cost more than $150 depending on the branding, and module you are looking to upgrade. This is by far NOTHING like Project Ara, but it's a start to give us more of an idea. Honestly the device looks pretty good, given it looks like an alien tool for probing, but LG has always been great at this (Starting with the LG G2). All in all, I will review the final product, but will probably not waste my time or money on the modules.. For now.

Also, Thanks to anyone who has stayed tuned this far, I know I have off and on times, but I always do come back to talk about my favorite devices or anything that intrigues me. Soon I want to start up a Youtube channel, but I'm still a bit camera shy. Writing is getting pretty old though, I can write, and make videos, a vlog with a blog is always good.

Thanks for reading, please share my content! Thanks!

LG G2 AT&T (D800) Cyanogenmod Semi-Nightlies

LG G2 AT&T (D800) Cyanogenmod Semi-Nightlies I am currently releasing the D801 (T-Mobile LG G2) Builds for the D800. Basically, I am taking the D801 CM12 Nightlies ever so often, and modifying the kernel for AT&T G2 Devices. I will be releasing these every 5-10 days, until the official CM12 Nightlies start coming in for the D800, which shouldn't be too far along.  Everything seems to work so far, last week I had a build that didn't have the Display & Lights option working, but on the Feb. 21st build, it is successfully working flawlessly. Comments below, or on the XDA Thread will be helpful, also reporting to CM the issues because chances are, if you're having a bug, the T-Mobile users are too. This is version 5.0.2, and will be updated from time to time! Working: Everything I see so far. Not Working: Nothing, The Display and Lights option crash was fixed. What is Android?

What is Android? Android is a Free Open Source Operating system, mostly seen on mobile devices these days such as smart phones, tablets, and is the base Operating system behind the Kindle fire, & Nook Color. It is safe to say Android is built upon Linux. When you hear of "Linux" you think of Ubuntu immediately if you're a novice, or "noob" with the Linux operating system. Well though Ubuntu is built upon Linux, and is commonly used on any machine using it, but it isn't what linux is. Linux is basically a terminal/operating system like you would say DOS is. Linux is basically a Unix clone, which is what Mac OS X is built upon. Linux is free, and if you ever payed for it, demand a refund, but don't get yourself in danger over it! (lol) So from this, we know Linux is just basically the background software, which runs all the commands it needs to, to give you a functioning GUI (Graphical User Interface) for easier ways to use ...

LikeWise S6? Will it be a Thing?

LikeWise S6? Will it be a Thing? Hopefully! I mean its very possible, for the Galaxy S3, and S4. I have not gotten ahold of a Galaxy S5 yet (Send me one I'll do it, thanks!) What this will consist of, again is bringing the look, the UI, and just the smoothness of the device to your older Galaxy device. Which is a new life for the older gen devices right? LikeWise S5 was such a huge hit for the Galaxy S3, I would love to participate in a new ROM, aside from my LG G2 work. Anyways I really want to do this! and I will! for any device I can, if you want to donate a device to me, for any development, I will definitely follow up on your wishes! Thanks everyone for reading this short :) AndroidGuruGuy
